The biggest myth about cancer is that it only happens to people who have family members who have cancer. The truth is that most cancers happen in people who have no family history of cancer and have none of the common risk factors for cancer.
Our education/screening events provide opportunities for people to learn about cancer risks, how to change behaviors that we know lead to cancer, and how to find cancer at an earlier stage when it is most likely to be cured.
Knowledge helps to overcome the fear that many people feel when they think about cancer. We have programs that can be presented to church, business and civic groups about cancer prevention and early detection as well as ones about specific kinds of cancer. The following is a list of some of the programs—if you have needs that aren’t listed, please call.
